DETAILS ABOUT THE TEAM:

Manage a small team of property brokers and support staff in the Minneapolis office.


GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
Lead Minneapolis property team, as well as serve as a Senior Broker handling a book of business, reporting into the Central Region Property Leader.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managed local and regional market relationships
  • Work effectively with decision makers within client organizations and within Aon internal network
  • Lead broker on complex insurance programs - Perform strategic assessment, design solutions and negotiate risk transfer products
  • Manage renewal cycle for all team accounts
  • Ensure personal development & professional growth of team members as well as be an effective mentor to Associate Brokers & Brokers
  • Effectively manage team\xe2\x80\x99s books of business ensuring client satisfaction
  • Effectively communicate market/industry perspectives and applications to specific client situation
  • Maintain & grow current book of business
  • Assume lead role on RFP responses
  • Manage team compliance & ensure self-compliance to service management requirements (Time Tracking, Attendance, Expense, various internal systems)
  • Maintain knowledge of Aon\xe2\x80\x99s scope of resources and capabilities to promote interdependency and enhanced client services
  • Collaborate/drive sales for various product lines
  • Manage individual annual expenses in alignment with the department goals.
  • Engage in HR related matters pertaining to talent including goal setting, recruitment, retention and conflict resolution.
  • Oversee staffing decisions to promote diverse teams and development opportunities for staff (including career paths and succession planning).

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
  • Proficient in the preparation and delivery of presentations for new business and client service meetings. Clients, prospects, and industry professionals should immediately recognize that the senior broker is an expert in the field who processes a thorough knowledge of their individual program, the national and local marketplace, local regulatory environment, program structure alternatives, and coverage terms, conditions, and forms.
  • Strong written and communication skills necessary to communicate in a professional manner with clients and the marketplace.
  • A strong team player who understands the roles and responsibilities of other Aon professionals on the team, assumes responsibility for the timely delivery of a professional work product in accordance with assigned roles, and facilitates communication among team members.
  • Promote creativity in presenting new ideas and approaches for clients or prospects; promote a positive attitude in always trying to improve a program.

Required years of experience:
10+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the property insurance brokerage industry with a comprehensive understanding of complex and global property placements.


Required education and certifications critical for the role:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required The candidate will have their Property and Casualty brokerage licenses.

The salary range for this position is $170,000 to $200,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant\xe2\x80\x99s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant\xe2\x80\x99s geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon\xe2\x80\x99s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
