Job Description


West Coast Trial Lawyers, a downtown Los Angeles law firm, seeks a full-time in-house controller to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing the financial operations of mid/large-sized organizations. Responsibilities:

  • Learn and understand the firm\xe2\x80\x99s processes to ensure the effectiveness of internal controls
  • Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and both department and organizational budgets and actual expenditures
  • Manage firm credit cards to ensure monthly reconciliation and correct coding in accounting system
  • In conjunction with the CFO, establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards on a monthly and annual basis
  • Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Manage the account payable function, including accurate and timely payment of invoices
  • Manage accounts receivable to ensure timely deposits and recording of payments; communicate past due accounts with CFO.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or another related financial field required
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance role
  • Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis
  • Proven payroll experience
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year Benefits:
