Ugly Dumpling is hiring Bobaristas for our upcoming location in Austin, TX!!

Job Responsibilities:

Ugly Dumpling is seeking friendly, customer-focused Bobaristas (Bubble Tea Baristas) to join our team at our Austin, TX location! The Bobarista will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of bubble tea drinks, engaging with guests to ensure a memorable experience, and maintaining a clean, efficient, and welcoming workspace. This role requires attention to detail, great communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Drink Preparation:

Prepare and serve a wide range of bubble tea drinks including milk teas, fruit teas, slushies, and specialty drinks according to company recipes and quality standards.

Customer Service:

Greet guests warmly, take orders efficiently, and assist customers in selecting drinks based on their preferences. Provide samples when appropriate and engage with guests to create a welcoming atmosphere.

Toppings & Ingredients Management:

Cook, monitor, and replenish boba pearls and other toppings throughout the shift, ensuring freshness and consistency.

Cleanliness and Safety:

Maintain a clean and organized workstation. Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines including proper food handling and cleaning procedures.

POS Operation:

Accurately process transactions through the POS system, handle cash and credit card payments, and ensure correct change and receipts.

Menu Knowledge:

Become familiar with the full drink menu, seasonal specials, customization options, and allergy information to answer guest questions and make recommendations.

Inventory Support:

Assist with restocking ingredients and supplies during and after shifts. Notify management of low inventory or equipment issues.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with fellow team members to ensure smooth operations, especially during peak hours. Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff.

Problem Resolution:

Address guest concerns or complaints professionally and promptly. Escalate issues to shift leads or management when necessary.

Requirements:

Experience:

Prior experience in food service, barista work, or beverage preparation preferred, but not required.

Knowledge:

Familiarity with bubble tea preparation is a plus. Willingness to learn recipes, drink variations, and kitchen processes is essential.

Skills:

Excellent customer service, communication, and multitasking skills. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand for long periods, move quickly, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Availability:

Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
