: The Peer Recovery Support Specialist works with clients directly within the population. The Peer Recovery Support Specialist will be present in common areas when group/class is not in progress and will provide a key role in therapy team that measures the milieu of the attending clients. Peer Recovery Support Specialist will provide emotional, informational, and instrumental support. Counselors supervise Peer Recovery Support Specialists closely and work in tandem to present therapeutic interventions to clients appropriately. Job Responsibilities: It is extremely important to be present at all times with the clients and to be involved in swaying regular conversation between clients to recovery focused discussion. Peer Recovery Support Specialists assist in: Gauging the Therapeutic Milieu, Group Processing, Individual Sessions, Collateral Contact, and Detailed Notation. What Peer Recovery Support Specialists are not: Sponsors, Friends, or Significant Others. Crossing any of these boundaries are considered counterproductive to the therapeutic process and may result in disciplinary action. In the same sense, we expect our employees to develop as professionals throughout their career academically, professionally, and personally. The Clinical Director will assist in the selection of relevant training for the Peer Recovery Support Specialists. Continuing education will always be encouraged by Union Mission BHC. Any adjustments needed to support an employee to further their education will be considered and supported based on availability and capability of the facility to handle adjustments. Union Mission BHC Peer Recovery Support Specialists will work in cooperation with the licensed clinical staff to support the client\xe2\x80\x99s recovery process. Union Mission BHC Peer Recovery Support Specialists are not substitutes for licensed counselors and will only assist with tasks that are appropriate for their level of training with supervision from clinical staff. Essential Job Responsibilities \xc2\xb7 Monitors/charts client behavior. \xc2\xb7 Work closely with RA at Union Mission. \xc2\xb7 Provides transportation to clients when necessary. \xc2\xb7 A valid Driver\'s license and good driving record is required. \xc2\xb7 A West Virginia Criminal Record Check required. \xc2\xb7 Personal experience in the field of recovery preferred. \xc2\xb7 Must have certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist. \xc2\xb7 Regular and continued training working with the field of mental health and substance use disorders. \xc2\xb7 Ability to perform on site drug testing, when required. \xc2\xb7 Adherence to current NAADAC code of ethics. \xc2\xb7 CPR and first aid certification required. \xc2\xb7 Administers drug screening when required. \xc2\xb7 Other duties as assigned. Applicant must be able to pass an initial drug screen and is required to submit to random drug screens during employment. Job Type: Full-time Benefits:
