JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS \xc2\xb7 Implement bereavement services programs utilizing professional staff and volunteers as appropriate to the service or event. \xc2\xb7 Deliver education programs and materials for patient/families, staff and the community on loss, grief and coping with bereavement. \xc2\xb7 Assist organization in educational training program. \xc2\xb7 Plan, implement and facilitate bereavement group events. \xc2\xb7 Work cooperatively with support staff involved in bereavement program. \xc2\xb7 Oversee bereavement follow-up by patient care staff and volunteers. \xc2\xb7 Work cooperatively with the Volunteer Supervisor to implement the volunteer component of the bereavement services. \xc2\xb7 Conduct the bereavement section of the interdisciplinary team conference. \xc2\xb7 Participate in the maintenance of the bereavement component of the community and staff resource libraries. \xc2\xb7 Participate in the orientation and training of new employees and volunteers working in the hospice program. \xc2\xb7 Prepare service reports as requested by management. \xc2\xb7 Perform specific assignments/all other job duties as directed/assigned by Supervisor. \xc2\xb7 Leadership skills. \xc2\xb7 Ability to function independently. \xc2\xb7 Time management skills. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: As a member of the interdisciplinary team reporting to the Hospice Director of Hospice Services, the Bereavement Services Coordinator is responsible for providing supportive services to help meet patient/family social service and emotional needs in bereavement consistent with Androscoggin policies. EDUCATION: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree is preferred in related area or equivalent education/experience. EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated clinical experience in the areas of life-threatening and chronic illness, grief and loss, and individual, family and group interventions/support. Minimum of 3 years related clinical experience in varied multi-disciplinary settings. Demonstrated skill in administrative performance, including expertise with both written and oral communication.
