Position Summary:



The Benefits Manager is responsible for directing and planning to the day-to-day operations and reconciliation of employee benefits programs (including, but not limited to, health, dental, vision, life insurance disability, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives. This role ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations, manages vendor relationships, and oversees benefits-related communications and education. A key function of this role includes benefits reconciliation, ensuring accurate and timely billing and data integrity. The Benefits Manager works under the direct supervision of the Director of Human Resources and supervises two Benefits and Leave Specialists.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



Reconcile and process payments for various benefits. Collaborate with HR team and payroll to ensure proper deductions and accounting. Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations. Develop and deliver benefits education materials, including presentations and inter/intranet content. Lead open enrollment processes and benefit orientation sessions. Prepare and submit required reports. Partner with ATU departments and the Arkansas Department of Higher Education (ADHE) for requests. Perform specialized duties including research projects. Conduct data analysis. Collaborate with human resources team regarding benefits administration and claims management. Responds to complaints and requests for information from the public, and employees, and vendors. Other administrative tasks and projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



Formal education or experience equivalent of a bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or in a related field. Ability to interpret and analyze data, spreadsheets, financials, and investigate discrepancies. Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Ellucian (Banner), Argos, and benefit invoicing software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum Requirements:



Formal education or experience equivalent of a bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or in a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:



Ability to analyze financial reports, statements and other records. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and other computer applications. Ability to interpret and communicate financial data. Three (3) years of experience in human resources or benefits.

Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:



The typical work environment is an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. Work is usually performed during the normal workweek including regular daytime hours. Work is performed on location at the ATU-Russellville campus.
