Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in behavioral therapy and experience working with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism. This role involves assessing patient needs, creating individualized treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to promote positive behavioral changes.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients to determine their behavioral health needs. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on applied behavior analysis principles. Collect and analyze data to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment strategies as necessary. Provide direct support and intervention for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. Maintain accurate medical documentation, including patient records, intake forms, and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Participate in diagnostic evaluations and contribute to the overall treatment strategy for each patient. Educate families about behavioral health issues and strategies for supporting their loved ones.

Skills

Proficient in behavioral therapy techniques and applied behavior analysis. Experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities or special education needs. Strong understanding of data collection methods related to patient assessment and progress tracking. Familiarity with medical terminology, documentation practices, and maintaining medical records. Ability to conduct intake assessments effectively while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards. Excellent interpersonal skills for working collaboratively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
