The Behavioral Health Clinical Supervisor will assist in the management of the Behavioral Health Program by providing clinical supervision and training to Behavioral Health Clinicians.



This position will support our Behavioral Health Clinicians, and will work at our Merced Suites clinic. Schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Compensation:

$109,532.80 - $128,076.00 Annual Salary, depending on years of experience at the time of offer.

Duties and Responsibilities

Stay abreast of new laws and mandates by the BBS, National Association of Social Workers (NASW), Code of Ethics, and the California Board of Psychology. Provide expertise on mental health issues via in-service trainings, consultations, and committees. Assist the Director of Behavioral Health Services and the Assistant Director of Behavioral Health Services with collecting clinic data, clinical outcome measures, and grant deliverables. Assist in selecting, interviewing, and training of BH clinicians. Assist in auditing patient records to ensure standards of care, billing requirements, and grant deliverables are met. Provide weekly group, individual, or dyadic clinical supervision for two units of supervision to unlicensed BHC's and/or Interns. Provide direct clinical supervision to practicum students as needed. Oversee the casework and professional growth of the unlicensed clinical staff. Collaborate with GVHC providers and clinic personnel as needed to advocate for patient needs. Review the accuracy of the authorization to release Information forms and review chart notes created by unlicensed BH Clinicians prior to their release. Ensure you are available for in-person, telephone, video, or email consultation (guarding confidentiality) as needed for BH matters. Review and assess areas of clinical strengths and growth for unlicensed BH Clinicians and/or Interns and provide feedback and guidance. Provide direct care to GVHC patients with behavioral health or social service needs during scheduled office hours. This includes facilitating care through triage, collaboration, and referrals to internal services and external mental health providers when higher level of care or specialty services are required. Assist GVHC Providers in recognizing and treating behavioral health and psychosocial needs. Assess the clinical status and/or conduct risk assessments of patients referred by GVHC Providers through brief consultative contact via a "warm-handoff" and provide an appropriate level of intervention. Demonstrate effective communication and problem-solving skills. Assist with the completion of reports for program, grants, and contractual billing needs. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. Other clinical duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Must be able to hear staff on the phone and those who are served in-person, and speak clearly in order to communicate information to clients and staff. Must have vision with or without lenses that is adequate to read memos, a computer screen, personnel forms and clinical and administrative documents. Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

Work Environment

The physical environment requires the employee to work primarily in an office setting. The noise level indoors is quiet to average. Use of general office equipment is required on a daily basis. Travel may be required within the three counties were GVHC clinics are located.

Education/Experience

Minimum Qualifications


Knowledge of NASW Code of Ethics. Ability to present and communicate in large groups. Remains current on California Board of Behavioral Sciences Regulations (BBS), and Federal, State and County laws or regulations applicable to providing behavioral health services. Knowledge of current practices and techniques in psychotherapeutic treatment, and techniques in the integrated model, including brief intervention and therapy. Knowledge of, or ability to obtain community resources for children and their families, homeless, farmworkers, etc. Thorough knowledge of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, current edition. Provide efficient behavioral health services to a broad range of patients, through the Integrated Care Model. Work as a member of a team in a consultative role with primary care providers. Ensures completion of clinical supervision hours each license renewal cycle, and/or at any new frequency as required by the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). Valid California driver's license, vehicle insurance, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation. Current BLS CPR card certified by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Education/Experience:


Equivalent to graduation from an accredited institution with a Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or closely related field preferred. An active and unencumbered license issued from the State of California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPPC), or Clinical Psychologist (Ph.D). Successfully complete a 15-hour approved clinical supervision course within 60 days of starting clinical supervision.
