SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The bartender prepares and dispenses alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for lounge and restaurant patrons. Such duties must be carrie3d out in a conscientious, company-oriented manner, ensuring guest satisfaction. This position supervises bar operation in terms of cleanliness, services, customer behavior respective to liquor control board laws and the standards of Land\xe2\x80\x99s End. Bartender is accountable for all cash and credit transactions. A Bartender is expected to communicate and advise the manager of any problems with customers, employees, and report any cash discrepancies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Set up bar with sufficient ice, garnishes, pre-mixes, syrups, liquors, wines, beer, and other supplies.

Prepares and dispenses drinks as requested by cocktail servers, food servers and counter customers. Picks up drink orders from floor when servers are not available.

Make certain that all drinks are properly charged and prepared according to Land\xe2\x80\x99s End standards.

Directs activities of cocktail servers for immediate customer acknowledgement. Verifies age identification.

Supervises bar operation in terms of cleanliness, service, customer behavior, respective liquor control board laws and the standards of Land\xe2\x80\x99s End.

Advises manager of any problems with customers\xe2\x80\x99 or employees\xe2\x80\x99 inventory imbalances, items out of stock, customers\xe2\x80\x99 requests for drinks and mixed items.

Maintain and cleans entire area behind bar plus all bar equipment: speed guns, beer and post mix dispensers and systems, blenders, glass washing machine and cash register.

Takes food orders from bar patrons and transmits orders to the kitchen through the micros system. Pick up, garnish, and serve food.

Supervises and participates in end of shift cleanup by cocktail servers (ashtrays, tables, and seats), replenishment of bar supplies and other side work.

Make sure all glasses are off the tables at closing, customers are out of the building, all doors are secure, and all light signs are turned off.

Side work and other duties as requested by the manager.

Bartender is accountable for all cash and credit transactions.

Obtain and verify change back funds.

Counts out amount of original change back in small bills and change for the next day\xe2\x80\x99s bank.

Counts cash and charges and records on bartender\xe2\x80\x99s deposit slip. Reconcile total collected to appropriate cash register totals.

Deposit change back in safe and delivers drop to Manager to verify.

Reports and cash discrepancies to Manager.

Side work and other duties as requested by the Manager.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

Legal age of 21

Must be sociable, able to communicate and work well with others.

Well-groomed and good demeanors.

Manual dexterity.

Good memory (for faces, troublemakers, drinks, etc.)

Honest

Complete understanding of liquor laws, legality of bartender\xe2\x80\x99s position and third-party liquor liability.

Familiar with sanitation procedures and guidelines.

Ability to be on foot for up to 8 hours and lift to 50 lbs.

Previous bartending experience or equivalent training.

Must provide a valid TAP card and food card.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three years related experience. Relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is also acceptable. Must have thorough knowledge of Alcohol license, TAP requirements, and company policy regarding alcohol distribution to guests and employees.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds with help and/or assistance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a fine dining environment where high levels of noise, dust and activity can be expected. The noise level in the work environment is usually medium to loud.
