Overview

We are seeking a friendly and energetic

Barista

to join our cafe team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and experience in food and beverage preparation. This role involves creating a welcoming environment for customers while efficiently preparing beverages and food items. Prior experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is preferred, along with strong time management and sales skills. The position offers an opportunity to develop your expertise in the food industry within a dynamic retail cafe setting.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and consistency Operate POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing and cash handling Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, taking orders, and addressing inquiries or concerns Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe area, including food preparation stations and seating areas Handle food safety procedures, including proper food handling, sanitation, and storage practices Assist in food preparation and serving of light snacks or baked goods as needed Manage cash register transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations Uphold health standards by following food safety guidelines and ensuring proper hygiene practices at all times Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer experiences

Experience

Previous barista experience preferred, especially familiarity with coffee preparation techniques Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous Strong customer service background with excellent communication skills Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Basic math skills for cashiering, retail math, and cash handling tasks Experience in the food industry or retail environment is beneficial but not required; training will be provided for specific systems and procedures
