Job Description


Basic Job Function: The Barista position supports all retail and in-store dining beverage needs. it involves the promotion of coffee consumption by educating customers and selling all drinks and retail products. The position must uphold all health department standards for storage and work with the cafe staff to meet the needs of all Maison Kayser customers. Task/Responsibilities: \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintain a strong understanding of the menu, in order to be able to make recommendations to customers as needed \xe2\x80\xa2 Take orders as needed, and educate all customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu, and answering questions that they may have \xe2\x80\xa2 Always display a positive demeanor, and welcome every customer, no matter how busy your station may be \xe2\x80\xa2 Generate revenues by attracting new customers through customer service and quality coffee drink execution \xe2\x80\xa2 Prepare all coffee drinks by following the prescribed recipes and preparation techniques \xe2\x80\xa2 Check that the equipment is fully functional prior to starting opening duties: inform manager immediately if there are any problems \xe2\x80\xa2 Take proper care and attention in setting up the barista station and espresso machine, paying close attention to detail and around health code standards \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensure that inventory is properly stocked in order to maintain an easy customer flow (i.e, milk sugar, cups, napkins, etc.) \xe2\x80\xa2 Prepare all cold brew, drip coffee and iced tea batches for the days\' production: work with the leadership to replenish as needed throughout the day \xe2\x80\xa2 Maintain all inventories throughout the day \xe2\x80\xa2 Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions: executing proper cleaning and preventative maintenance techniques: troubleshooting breakdowns: and calling for repairs and escalations, if needed Minimum Requirements: \xe2\x80\xa2 An outgoing personality that can handle a fast-paced environment while still delivering high-end customer service \xe2\x80\xa2 Familiarity with various coffee & espresso drinks, and manual machine experience \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to work well alone as well as on a team, and to use initiative as required \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong attention to detail \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to understand and demonstrate all of Maison Kayser\'s Core Values: Authenticity, Innovation, Quality, and Passion \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to prove the ability to meet all Maison Kayser Behaviors: Teamwork, Willing to Learn, Open to Feedback, and Passion Experience and Education: \xe2\x80\xa2 High School Diploma or equivalent highly preferred \xe2\x80\xa2 6 months minimum experience in a high-volume setting *Maison Kayser is an Equal Opportunity Employer*
