Position Summary



As Bartender & Evening Shift Lead, you'll craft exceptional drinks, work solo shifts, help guide our evening team, aide in weekly events, and ensure every guest feels at home. You'll help shape the ambiance that makes Tilde a special spot for regulars and first-timers alike -- relaxed & friendly with great customer service & products.

Key Responsibilities



Bartending & Guest Service



Serve coffee and tea drinks, domestic wines, and a select list of beer. Recommend wines and beverages thoughtfully, based on guests' tastes. Ensure every drink is presented with care and consistency. Keep the bar and service area tidy, organized, and inviting. Provide warm, attentive hospitality -- making each guest feel seen and welcomed. Practice responsible alcohol service in line with state guidelines.

Shift Leadership



Lead evening staff, providing direction and support during service. Oversee floor flow, table rotation, and service standards. Handle guest concerns professionally and promptly. Perform opening/closing procedures and ensure end-of-night checklists are completed. Conduct cash handling and nightly reporting. Assist with inventory counts, restocking, and communicating supply needs.

Operations & Team Support



Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. Uphold cafe and bar standards, policies, and quality expectations. Train new team members on service, beverage preparation, and safety procedures. Communicate effectively with management about issues, needs, and successes.

Qualifications



You have cafe/wine-bar experience (1-2 years) and a willingness/desire to learn more. You enjoy meaningful guest interaction and helping create a community feel. You have an appreciation for wine, coffee, and thoughtfully crafted beverages. You are calm under pressure, organized, and comfortable leading a shift. You have strong communication skills and a warm, friendly demeanor. You're 21+ with any required alcohol-service credentials for Massachusetts (we can help obtain).

Physical Requirements



Ability to stand for long periods. Comfortable lifting up to 40 lbs (e.g., wine cases, bulk coffee bags, paper goods deliveries, etc.).
