Position Summary



The Banquet Houseman is responsible for the set-up, maintenance, and breakdown of all banquet and meeting rooms according to event orders. This position plays a key role in ensuring all functions are executed smoothly and professionally, maintaining Marriott's high standards of service and presentation.

Key Responsibilities



Set up banquet and meeting rooms according to event specifications -- including furniture arrangement, linens, decor, and audiovisual equipment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of all banquet spaces, storage areas, and service corridors throughout the shift. Assist banquet servers and supervisors during events with additional setups, water service, and replenishment needs. Break down and reset banquet rooms promptly after events, returning all items to their proper storage locations. Handle, transport, and store equipment and supplies safely; report any damages or maintenance needs immediately. Follow all safety, sanitation, and property standards. Maintain a professional appearance and courteous attitude when interacting with guests and fellow associates. Support other hotel departments as needed to ensure smooth event operations.

Qualifications



High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in banquets, events, or hospitality is an advantage but not required. Ability to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well as part of a team. Flexible schedule -- must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules. Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements



Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, and pushing/pulling of heavy items. Work may occur in varying temperatures and environments, both indoors and outdoors. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions clearly and efficiently.

Working Relationships



Reports directly to the Banquet Manager or Supervisor. Works closely with banquet servers, kitchen staff, event planners, and housekeeping to ensure event success.

Pay: $12.50 per hour
