Job Description

brick & bin is seeking a full or part-time baker for our full-service bakery located at our restaurant in Mountain Brook. brick & tin bakery operates not only as a full service bakery, making wholesale bread and pastry items for retail sales, but it is also where bread production for all bakery items at 2 other locations.
During an 8 hour shift you will be responsible for preparing the bakery for service, mixing and shaping breads, facilitating To-Go orders, interacting with guests, and assessing/making the desserts as needed each day!

LEAST 2 years

of restaurant experience. Experience baking bread from scratch in a professional setting such as an actual bakery or upscale restaurant is preferred but not required. Providing picture references is a plus. Understanding basic food safety Foodservice safety training certification Exceptional attention to detail and time management Has some experience with POS systems, taking customer orders, and providing excellent service Proven ability to be a team player, as well as working with little supervision Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends Available to work Sundays Your own form of reliable transportation Willingness to work as part of a team Basic understanding of bakery equipment i.e. ovens, mixers, piping tools, etc Ability to take direction from direct supervisors and upper management Willingness to learn and grow knowledge of craft
This position is open to those who may not have professional baking experience, but have at least knowledge of the food industry on a production level, are willing to learn on the job, and have an interest in making a career out of bread and pastry.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
