Pay Range $104,370 - $135,192 Annual (J01.3) Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. Many factors are taken into consideration when setting starting pay including education, experience, the external labor market, and internal equity.

In this role, you will
  • Oversee and serve as the subject matter expert for the badging program for internal and external customers resolving complex security-related problems and providing solutions and guidance to customers.
  • Oversee high level visits, tours, and events, partnering with the Protocol Office and programs across the Laboratory, and with other government personnel for HSPD-12 enrollments.
  • Responsible for ensuring badging processes comply with DOE Orders, SO and LLNL policies, the Code of Federal Regulations, and other Federal regulations as mandated.
  • Identify and conduct self-assessments, identify findings, deficiencies, and observations, and recommend and implement corrective actions.
  • Supervise administrative employees within the Badge Office including performance management, training, mentoring, conducting, and managing the hiring process and selections for Badge Office positions.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper data entry into the badging databases and prepare administrative and statistical reports for internal and external audits.
  • Responsible for ensuring Foreign Visits and Assignment policies and procedures are effectively and accurately implemented where they intersect with the badging process.
  • Oversee that monthly and quarterly metrics are reported by their due dates to include organizational metrics.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in security or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience protecting highly sensitive information while adhering to, and applying security principles, and advanced regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced regulatory requirements, techniques, standards, processes, concepts, practices, and systems for more than one area within a security discipline.
  • Experience leading customer-focused operations and managing personnel.
  • Experience consistently meeting aggressive deadlines and responding to ever changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills necessary to advise, recommend, and resolve highly complex security-related problems having Lab-wide impact.
  • Demonstrated highly effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to interact with diplomacy and tact to deal with customers, and to effectively present, direct, negotiate, and influence all levels of management and staff.
  • Experience working effectively both independently and in team settings to conduct assessments, analyze results, and develop and execute sound solutions to complex and highly sensitive problems.
  • Experience developing and writing clear and concise policies, procedures, formal reports, or other correspondence.
  • Intermediate communication verbal and written skills. Participate in the development and implementation in security policy and procedures.
Qualifications We Desire
  • Working knowledge of the LLNL/DOE badging program and the Unclassified Foreign Visit and Assignment program.
  • Experience creating and giving presentations.
  • Proven experience in effective leadership.
