Summary:
The Automation Programmer will install, program and repair automation controls and electrical systems to Trident?s processing needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installs and retro fits automation and control systems at seafood processing facilities.
- Changes, updates, and designs new desktop and touch screen applications.
- Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfuntcion with other maintenance workers, operators, and plant management, to diagnose the malfunction and repair.
- Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
- Pushes buttons and presses keys on robot controller, teach pendant, and programmable controller to program automated machinery, such as robots, to operate automated machinery, to test for malfunctions, and to verify repairs.
- Creates small Ethernet, ethercat, DH+, and other networks.
- Works with RsLogix500, RsLogix5000, FactoryTalk, and other systems.
- Inspects low voltage electrical systems.
- Understands and and utilizes Trident SOP?s and safe working procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Acquires knowledge of Trident?s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings
Minimum Requirements
Experience/Education: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; a minimum of 3 years? working with electrical controls and PLC?s; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to calculate figures and amounts and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Preferred Training and Skills: Technical school training in electrical maintenance and automation programming
Physical Demands and Work Environment: On the jobsite, this role will occasionally work in cramped spaces. Subject to long periods of standing and kneeling may be required. In this role, you may be exposed to dirt, dust, debris, or fumes. While working outside, you may be exposed to hot or cold temperatures and inclement weather. In the facilities, you are often subject to noisy machinery.
This role may be required to work at great heights, such as when working on site. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
