Job Description

Seeking a qualified individual to serve as a PLC and Controls Programmer to join our Engineering team located in Carlsbad, NM. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, programming, testing and troubleshooting of legacy (installed) Sixnet and commissioning new Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC\xe2\x80\x99s). The candidate will be responsible for design changes, following the Engineering Change Notice process. The candidate shall be able to create logic, program, and troubleshoot using RSLogix Studio 5000, Factory Talk View, and other PLC programming suites as needed. The candidate shall be able to interface instruments, field devices, and other equipment to installed Sixnet PLC\xe2\x80\x99s, and provide interface support with our site SCADA software. The candidate shall have a technical understanding of Ignition software and OPC-UA conversion to support the PLC to SCADA interface. The candidate shall have a working knowledge of media conversion and communication protocols such as Modbus and TCP/IP and their application to connecting PLCs and field devices. The candidate shall have a working knowledge of mechanical and electrical instrumentation, actuators, and variable frequency drives. In addition, the candidate will be required to support other groups as directed. The candidate will also qualify as a Startup Engineer, supporting testing and commissioning activities as directed. Some travel will be required, but will be limited. Exempt Salary Grade (30 \xe2\x80\x93 34) Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree with two (2) years of related experience, or
• Associates Degree with six (6) years of related experience, or
• High School Diploma or GED with ten (10) years of related experience is required.
• Relevant experience must include at least two (2) years of programming, troubleshooting, and testing PLC\xe2\x80\x99s.
• Relevant experience in system control/integration, automation and networking is required.
• Must have strong interface skills and be able to work in a fast paced environment with minimal direction.
• Due to the nature of the work, all candidates must be US Citizens.

• BS in Engineering or technical field is desired.
• Ignition Certified Training and/or Rockwell Automation Certified Training is a plus.
• PLC development experience using ISaGRAF would be ideal.
• Programming experience in Python is preferred
• Preference given to experience with Safety Instrumented System (SIS) design considerations.
• Experience with surface and underground mining Industrial Control Systems (ICS) systems and related equipment.
• Previous WIPP Project experience is a plus.
