Overview:

The AutoCAD Drafter position consists of working in AutoCAD to design, edit and present charts, graphs, and working plans for permitting or project related purposes. Must also be able to present to coworkers; managers or external customers as needed. This position must possess excellent customer service skills, be willing to face issues in a positive manner and resolve day to day conflicts as they arise.
Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Create \xe2\x80\x9cbase maps\xe2\x80\x9d for Designers and other users as needed.
• Digitize as build plant records and maps for inter-departmental use.
• Prepare detail pages, plans and other materials for permitting
• Using computer assisted drafting/design (CAD) equipment and software to develop complete and accurate electronic working plans, elevations, details, charts and/or revisions.
• Create and revise detailed electronic (CAD) working plans, charts and/or scale drawings for telecommunications projects from existing drawings, measurements, sketches, specifications, etc.
• Using 3GIS software to accomplish tasks as needed
• Perform other engineering/drafting related duties to support business needs as assigned by manager.

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Micro Station, 3GIS or other similar software package.
• Extensive 3GIS knowledge is a plus for this position
• Any combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates ability to perform the designated job duties and responsibilities of the position.
• Ability to make common sense understanding to carry out instructions that are provided in written, oral or drawing. Ability to deal with and understand problems involving different variables in many varied situations. Ability to collect, organize, disseminate and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts (measurements in terms of distance, proportions, percentages and area. Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics including algebra and geometry.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and plan work accordingly
• Ability to read, understand and interpret documents such as safety rules and requirements, machine manuals of operation and process procedures. Ability to write information including reports. Ability to speak effectively to customers, vendors and coworkers up through all levels of management and staff.
• Must have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Must have general computer knowledge.
• Must possess, or obtain upon employment, a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.
• Must be able to pass a company drug screening.
• Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.
• May be required to work after hours; on weekends or be on-call as work is needed.
• Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.

Pay Range: The AutoCAD Drafter pay range is $18.00 to $20.00 an hour depending on experience.
