The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Auditor 2. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community.

Job Duties:

  • Reviews documents and conducts statewide on-site audits for the Home and Community Based services per federal and state laws, agency rules, regulations, policies, and procedures surrounding DDD practices.
  • Writes monitoring/audit summary reports, verifies corrective actions plans submitted by vendor ensuring implementation of and ongoing system improvements. Provides technical assistance as needed. Creates and maintains tracking databases. Establishes and maintains electronic agency files.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
  • Knowledge of Auditing principles, standards, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of Long-Term Care service delivery system.
  • Knowledge of Human dynamics and organizational systems.
  • Skills in Utilizing Microsoft Products including Word and Excel to manipulate and present data.
  • Skills in Assessing, reviewing, and/or analyzing situations and/or data, i.e., critical thinking.
  • Skills in Prioritizing and multi-tasking to meet timelines.
  • Ability to Evaluate data and documents to determine compliance level.
  • Ability to Complete reports based on data and documents in an accurate, clear and professional manner, including recommendations for corrective action.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision.

Selective Preference(s):
Bachelor\'s degree in accounting or a related field. Up to two years\xe2\x80\x99 experience conducting compliance audits, writing comprehensive reports (e.g., individual plans and/or care plans, etc.), or assessing organizational systems (e.g., community residential, day or employment settings, etc.). Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
  • In-state travel is required. This position requires possession of and ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver\xe2\x80\x99s license appropriate to the assignment. Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver\xe2\x80\x99s license record checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.). Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.

Retirement:
State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period. The ASRS defined benefit plan provides for life-long income upon retirement. You will also have the option to participate in a voluntary deferred compensation program to take advantage of tax-deferred retirement investments.
