Job Description


We are a large Commercial General Contractor seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual to join our Procurement Department as an Associate Estimator. Our ideal candidate is a demonstrated team player who is familiar with the standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the construction field. Candidates must be proficient in Timberline and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook). Responsibilities
  • Establishes work scopes for subcontractors
  • Discusses and establishes bid strategies, concerns, and advantages with senior estimating team
  • Assists in defining major or priority subcontractors
  • Assists Sr. Estimator to complete pricing and take-offs for MHC scopes of work
  • Reviews pricing and take-offs prior to pre-bids
  • Monitors coverage and solicits new subcontractors
  • Improves existing relationships with subcontractors
  • Sets up bid spreadsheets
  • Completes quantity take-off as required for Divisions 1-14
  • Assists Estimating department as needed to facilitate teamwork
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the construction field
  • Proficient in Timberline and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strategic approach to winning with creative planning and development experience
  • Demonstrated team player with the ability to foster a collaborative atmosphere through the bidding process
  • Ability to develop and maintain subcontractor relationships
  • Willing and able to visit a construction site at some time during employment
  • Must have the ability to lift 5-10 pounds and perform repetitive hand movements
