Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Admissions & Recruitment, the Associate Director of Transfer Admissions is responsible for the coordination of the transfer and second-degree student recruitment and admissions processes. In addition, this position coordinates the transfer student communication plan and organizes the college fair and recruitment calendar. Establishing relationships with transfer advisors and program deans/chairs at two-year community college and technical college campuses is an important role of this position. The Associate Director leads the evaluation of transfer courses and works with UWL departments and colleges to determine course equivalences, resolve transfer issues, and maintain program articulation agreements. This position is a member of the Admissions Office leadership team and provides direct supervision to the Transfer Application Review Specialist and the Transfer Admissions Counselor. Finally, the Associate Director will meet with prospective transfer students and their families in a variety of venues, promoting opportunities at UWL, advising them of the transfer admission processes, and recruiting students who will contribute to the strength of UWL. Auto travel is required, especially during the fall and spring recruitment seasons, primarily in the Midwest. All responsibilities shall be executed while demonstrating a commitment to Inclusive Excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • Master\'s degree (accreditation standards of degree-granting institution meets acceptable levels of quality and academic standards)
  • Relevant, progressive experience in higher education
  • Professional written communication and public speaking skills
  • Strong organizational skills (including responsibilities that demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail)
  • Ability to be adaptable and manage multiple competing priorities
  • Familiarity with computer applications
  • Experience building relationships and working with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
  • Valid driver\'s license (or ability to obtain a valid driver\'s license)
  • Ability to lift and transport materials up to 35 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master\'s degree in Student Affairs or related field.
  • Experience in admissions
  • Experience with database systems such as Oracle/PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and ImageNow
  • Experience implementing and integrating innovative enrollment management technology

Description of College / Department / Program / Division / Unit

The Division of Student Affairs\' role is to enhance and support students learning experience here at UWL. We work closely with faculty, staff, community members, alumni and most importantly, students to provide quality programs and services which promote learning, leadership, involvement, service and the celebration of diversity. The Division includes a number of departments: Admissions and Recruitment, Campus Child Center, Counseling and Testing, Student Health Center, Intercollegiate Athletics, Recreational Sports, Residence Life, Student Life, University Centers, and the Vice Chancellor & Dean of Students office.
