We are currently looking for a full-time Associate Director of Financial Aid. The Associate Director of Financial Aid works under the supervision of the Director of Financial Aid & Military Benefits. This position is responsible for managing the campus' financial aid office and administering the delivery of the students' financial aid package from Enrollment Services, as well as for investigating and resolving complaints from future and reentering students.

Responsibilities of the position include:



Responsible for resource planning, staff hiring, training, development, motivation, and disciplinary action of the financial aid team. Participates in all orientation and student outreach activities online and at Louisville campus. Manages and coordinates the delivery of financial aid services to the student; recommends policies and procedures, coordinates logistics and workflow to ensure the effective delivery of services. Shares regulatory and institutional information as appropriate, promotes the development of ideas for improved service and efficiency and encourages teamwork. Maintains a current knowledge of state and federal funding programs, policies and regulations, and other requirements by external authorities through reading and reviewing documentation, professional memberships, attending conferences and workshops. Works collaboratively with internal resources across departments and campuses to resolve financial aid issues for students. Supports and maintains knowledge of institutional policies. Ensures the department's adherence to the policies and processes for the collection of student documentation and the presentation of financial planning awards. Prepares and analyzes internal and external financial reports demonstrating receipt and application of funds payable to student accounts in a timely and efficient manner. Reviews and/or consults with the Director of Financial Aid & Military Affairs on these reports as necessary. Collaborates with Director of Financial Aid & Military Affairs on new hire training and further supports that training through efforts at the campus. Successfully completes all new-hire and ongoing training courses in a timely manner. Maintains all files, documentation, and data entry according to standard operating procedures. Assists the Compliance Officer in preparing for audits and program reviews. Responsible for facilitating the resolution to student and staff complaints and/or problems. Monitors and controls budget items for the department to achieve the planned financial results. Responsible for ensuring the delivery of satisfactory customer service experiences to students and their families. Actively participates in programs targeted to improve retention, customer satisfaction and enrollment. Assists with presenting student financial aid awards. Counsel students and families regarding the availability of aid, application procedures, and college policies regarding receipt of Federal and State aid. Subscribes to FSA Partner Connect, NASFAA, KHEAA and other Higher Education newsletters and updates The Sullivan University System. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study. Four years leadership or supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered. Working knowledge of Federal, State and other agencies policies and procedures regarding the participation of financial aid in different programs preferred. In good standing with the Department of Education. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with staff. Ability to collaborate and work well with other departments. Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule including evenings and weekends. Ability to function efficiently and use good time management skills in a fast paced and demanding work environment. Ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail while working for extended periods of time. Proficient computer skills with specific emphasis on Microsoft Office products. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
