The Associate Director of Events is responsible for leading and managing the planning, coordination, and execution of all resort events; including weddings, social gatherings, meetings, and group functions. This role ensures the delivery of authentic, luxury experiences aligned with Alila's brand promise of personalized and meaningful hospitality, while optimizing revenue opportunities and maintaining operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:



Event Management & Execution



Oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, including logistics, room setups, catering, audiovisual, and guest experiences. Partner closely with clients and internal teams to ensure each event reflects the Alila brand ethos of intuitive and bespoke service. Supervise event managers, coordinators, and support staff to ensure flawless execution of group and social functions. Act as the on-site liaison for high-profile events, ensuring seamless communication between departments.

Sales & Revenue Optimization



Collaborate with the Director of Events and Sales team to maximize event revenue and profitability. Participate in site visits, pre-conference meetings, and client presentations. Develop creative upselling strategies and customized event packages to enhance guest satisfaction and increase revenue.

Leadership & Team Development



Provide guidance, coaching, and performance management to the Events team. Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability consistent with Hyatt's leadership values. Promote professional growth and training opportunities within the department.

Client Relations & Brand Representation



Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and community partners. Ensure that all events reflect the brand's commitment to sustainability, wellness, and locally inspired experiences. Manage post-event follow-up to ensure client satisfaction and encourage repeat business.

Administrative & Financial Management



Oversee event forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting. Monitor and manage event P&L performance in collaboration with Finance and Sales leadership. Ensure adherence to Hyatt's operational standards and compliance requirements.

The salary range for this position is $70,600 to $100,000. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on a number of factors including experience, qualifications and education.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Business or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in event management, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort environment Proven track record of leading successful Proficiency in event management software (Delphi, Envision, or comparable systems). Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Passion for delivering personalized, sustainable, and memorable experiences Ability to lead a diverse team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment. Refined verbal and written communication skills. Must be proficient in general computer knowledge CMP Certified preferred * Geographically mobile
