Job Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in San Francisco, California. Structure, analyze and execute transactions on behalf of public and private sector entities in the general government, school district, housing, and project finance sectors in the West region of the United States. Build and review proprietary financial models, utilizing Microsoft Excel and DBC software. Help senior team evaluate models to develop key judgments. Prepare written responses to client Requests for Proposals for debt underwriting transactions, including information such as relevant credentials, marketing and distribution strategy, and finance plan. Lead dialogue when liaising with senior bankers and product experts throughout the firm. Guide and coordinate junior professionals\xe2\x80\x99 work product, including reviewing financial modeling work and presentations prepared for transactions, investment banking pitches and client service projects on finance topics and supervise and review memoranda required to gain internal approvals from relevant committees. Analyze and present on a client\xe2\x80\x99s exposure to a variety of financial markets, including interest rates and inflation, as well as determine the potential impact on a clients\xe2\x80\x99 financial metrics, including debt service coverage, debt capacity, interest expense, and leverage. Manage financing live deal execution, including running due diligence processes, negotiating non-disclosure agreements, bond purchase agreements, and other legal documents with lawyers and financiers, organizing and attending roadshows and liaising other investment banks and other parties within the Investment Banking Division (IBD). Conduct detailed analysis of a client\xe2\x80\x99s financing needs and its capital structure within the framework of its short, medium and longer-term goals. Evaluate and present on structural elements of bonds and choices involved in the structuring of a bond issue (i.e. describing how the market values certain features such as call structure, maturity, coupon, and what the potential impact to the issuer may be). Job Requirements: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Economics, Finance, or related field and Four (4) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Prior experience must include four (4) years of experience with: executing debt transactions within the municipal, school district, utility, military housing and student housing sectors in excess of $100 million, including both securitization and balance sheet financings; building and utilizing models including cash flow models, coverage models, operating models using Excel and DBC Finance Software; utilizing interest rate and credit derivative instruments, including interest rate swaps, to manage the risk of positions on balance sheet; drafting and reviewing legal contracts for complex debt financing transactions, including loan documents, inter-creditor and co-lender agreements; preparing presentations and memorandums in Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint to review deals with clients, senior bankers, internal investment committees and credit officers; building financial models in Excel, including VBA, and applying valuation and return methodologies including DCF and Return on Capital analysis; and managing and coordinating multiple work streams with other investment banking professionals, external legal counsel and accountants to ensure smooth execution of deals. FINRA SIE and Series 63, 52 and 7 or 79TO required or obtained within 6 months of hire. Must be willing to take and pass Series 50 exam. Domestic travel required monthly (or more frequently) to meet with current and prospective clients. All client-related travel reimbursed by the Firm. Salary Range: The expected annual base salary for this San Francisco, California, United States-based position is $150,000 - $225,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
