Position Summary:
The Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Dental Medicine for the Advanced Education in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (AEODO) Residency Program will participate in teaching didactic courses to the residents and interns, conducting faculty research and serving as faculty research mentor, as well as treating patients in clinic. This individual, reports directly to the AEODO Residency Program Director and agrees to serve on a variety of committees as needed.
Essential Functions:
Teaches clinical orthodontics and supervises residents as they treat patients in the Roseman University of Health Sciences AEODO/MBA Residency Program's Clinic (Clinic)
Teaches didactic classes/blocks as assigned
Oversees appropriate and timely progression of orthodontic case treated by the residents in the Clinic, and monitors finished treatment results as dictated by the American Board of Orthodontics
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops
Operates standard Clinic and research equipment
Conducts research and promotes evidence-based practice
Involved in any existing grants as needed and be motivated to apply for external funding opportunities
Qualifications:
Qualified applicants must have a DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited US or Canadian dental school or equivalent
Must be eligible for licensure in Nevada at the time of application and receive licensure within 3 months of hire
* Completion of a CODA-approved, post-doctoral residency in orthodontics, along with teaching experience at the postdoctoral level, including a strong record of scholarly activity
