Job Description

The Assistant Supervisor of Grain Receiving & Mixing will play a key role in supporting daily operations of raw grain receiving, storage, mixing, and transfer processes at Vitakraft. This position ensures efficiency, safety, quality, and compliance with company and regulatory standards while helping lead and train team members in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities




Assist in overseeing the grain receiving process, including unloading, inspection, testing, and proper storage of incoming grain. Support and monitor mixing operations to ensure consistency, accuracy, and adherence to formulation specifications. Maintain and enforce proper cleaning, sanitation, and housekeeping standards in all receiving and mixing areas. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production scheduling to ensure continuous supply of ingredients. Provide day-to-day directions and training to grain receiving and mixing team members Support the Grain Supervisor in scheduling, assigning tasks, and ensuring coverage across shifts. Coach and mentor employees to maintain high standards of safety, efficiency, and quality. Act as a backup supervisor in the absence of the Grain Supervisor. Ensure compliance with company safety programs, OSHA standards, and food/feed safety regulations (FSMA, FDA, GMP). Monitor critical control points and maintain accurate logs for quality assurance. Participate in audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives. Assist with maintaining production records, inventory logs, and receiving documentation. Report operational issues, equipment malfunctions, or quality deviations promptly to management. Collaborate with maintenance, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve issues efficiently.





Required Qualifications:




High school diploma or GED. 2+ years of leadership experience. Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate are team, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Provent track record of maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards while driving operational efficiency. Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work in environments with dust, noise, and varying temperatures.





Preferred Qualifications:




Associate degree or technical training in feed milling, grain science, or related field. 2+ years of experience in feed, grain, food processing, or manufacturing operations. Previous supervisory or lead experience. Familiarity with automated batching and inventory control systems. Experience coaching employees through change management, process improvements, and cross-department collaboration.





Pay Rate: $28/hr
