About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Assistant Music Instructor to support instrumental music classes for K-12 students in Coachella, CA. This is a seasonal, part-time, W-2 position ideal for aspiring educators or musicians looking to gain hands-on classroom experience in a supportive, engaging environment.

Key Responsibilities

Shadow/assist/Co-teach with lead instructors in delivering instrumental music lessons across elementary, middle, and high school settings Support lesson planning and help tailor activities to students of different skill levels Help create an inclusive, fun, and engaging classroom environment Encourage student confidence, creativity, and self-expression through music Assist with classroom setup, organization, and student management before, during, and after class

Level of Education, Experience, and Skill Set

Experience working with children preferred Ability to travel between school sites as needed Strong communication skills across email, text, and phone Passion for music education and interest in supporting young learners

Additional Information

Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel between school sites Successful completion of a Livescan background check and TB test prior to hire Successful completion of Mandated Reporter training is required upon hire 401(k) available for eligible employees after meeting plan requirements

Physical Demands

The Assistant Music Instructor is required to talk and hear. The employee is required to stand, sit, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb, balance, twist, lean, move from one location to another, use their hands and fingers to handle or feel, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close and far vision. Ability to operate musical instruments, a computer keyboard, and lift files and reports is required. Exposure to glare from a computer. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be able to lift 25lbs. and travel via automobile.

Work Environment:

The work environment will usually be in a school environment, with possible shared workspace. The noise level is usually moderate to noisy. When traveling, the environment may change dependent upon the site visiting.
