to oversee the operations, staffing, programming, and events of our Aquatics Department. This leadership role works directly with the General Manager and plays a key part in ensuring a safe, efficient, and engaging experience for members, guests, and partners.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Facility Oversight
Ensure pool operations meet state and local health and safety regulations
Monitor and maintain water chemistry, filtration, and pool equipment
Oversee swim meet scheduling, team practices, and pool usage
Manage swim meet systems Colorado Timing System (CTS) and Hytek Meet Manager
Staff Leadership & Development
Supervise and support 1-2 direct reports and a team of up to 50 aquatics staff
Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate lifeguards, swim instructors, coaches, and support staff
Enforce personnel policies and maintain a positive team environment
Event & Program Management
Coordinate all aspects of swim meets and aquatic events
Manage community and partner programming such as swim lessons and fitness classes
Ensure proper data management for meets and competitions
Set up and operate CTS equipment and scoreboards during events
Administrative Duties
Create and manage department budgets; conduct audits and reporting
Support membership growth and retention through excellent service
Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed, including evenings and weekends
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
1-4 years of aquatics leadership or management experience
Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
Lifeguard, CPR, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certifications
Experience with Hytek Meet Management and Colorado Timing System (Gen 7)
Preferred
Water Safety Instructor (WSI)
USA Swimming Coach Certification
ASCA Certification
American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor
Skills
Strong leadership and organizational skills
Ability to troubleshoot and maintain pool systems and timing equipment
Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) and Microsoft Office
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
