Job Description


Kendall Auto Alaska has an immediate opening for an Assistant Controller for our Alaska Operations. Kendall Auto Group is one of the largest automotive retail dealerships in the Pacific Northwest operating 41 franchises in 5 states with 2,300 employee team members.

The Tax Manager\xe2\x80\x99s responsibilities will include:
  • Sales and use tax analysis and reporting.
  • Oversee accounting department staff of 1-4.
  • Ensure accounting controls and processes are in place, reviewed and tested.
  • Financial statement review and preparation.
  • Compensation calculation review.
  • Collaborate with operations personnel to achieve company objectives.
  • Day-to-day management of tax and accounting functions
  • Perform G/L reconciliations.
  • Able to train and mentor staff in a positive work environment.
  • Plan, organize and meet deadlines individually and with the team.
  • Meet multiple ongoing demands efficiently and effectively.
  • Hiring, training, and coaching staff.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Work independently with minimal direction.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in accounting required.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience required.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting processes, internal controls, and best practices.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be a positive team player.
  • Must be dependable.
