The Assistant AD, Brand Development reports to the Senior Deputy Director of Athletics and will lead a comprehensive strategy to maximize NIL opportunities for University of Miami Student-Athletes. The Assistant AD, Brand Development will coordinate with compliance, digital strategy, development, sponsorship, licensing, marketing, and communications units to lead the University of Miami\xe2\x80\x99s brand development and NIL program. The Assistant AD, Brand Development is responsible for managing relationships with external NIL partners, including Altius, Opendorse, One Team, Fanatics, adidas, and others. This role will be responsible for progressive leadership with an entrepreneurial spirit in developing a best-in-class NIL program for the University of Miami.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage NIL questions and requests from internal stakeholders (e.g., student-athletes, coaches, staff, etc.) and external stakeholders (e.g., prospects and their family members, donors, third-party individuals, local business, etc.).
  • Collaborate with external partners, including Opendorse, Brandr, Postgame, Legends, and others to maximize NIL opportunities through corporate partnerships.
  • Work with external departments to provide student-athletes with coaching on personal branding, team dynamics, sourcing, and evaluating opportunities.
  • Work with digital and creative teams to generate social media and marketing content to promote Student-Athlete NIL initiatives and opportunities while showcasing University of Miami Student-Athletes in the NIL space.
  • Develop Student-Athlete content training and education programs.
  • Develop Prospective Student-Athlete NIL presentations and present as needed.
  • Prepare agendas and lead departmental NIL meetings.
  • Educate Student-Athletes on group licensing and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Meet with teams on NIL best practices
  • Partner with the development team to grow NIL opportunities for student-athletes through donor-led partnerships.
  • Organize and promote events with the collective, sponsors, and donors.
  • Present on state of NIL to key stakeholders and administration.
  • Stay updated on the latest NIL trends, including legislative advancements, NCAA compliance regulations, and vendor landscape evolutions.
  • Partner with the compliance staff to lead student-athlete, donor, and staff education related to adopted and pending Federal, State, and NCAA NIL policies/laws.
  • Work with compliance to help manage the processing and monitoring of student-athlete NIL opportunities to ensure NCAA, ACC, and institutional compliance.
  • Manage agent registration and monitoring process to ensure NCAA, ACC, and institutional compliance.
  • Monitor social media accounts and other platforms for student-athletes, ensuring NCAA, ACC, and institutional compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree
  • Minimum of three years of brand management, athletics compliance, or marketing experience.
  • Experience in relationship building, exemplary customer service, sales, and/or high-volume project management and coordination.
  • Excellent computer, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and effectively balance multiple situations.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Understanding of evolving NIL landscape.
  • Adherence to University, Atlantic Coast Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Flexible to various scheduling to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Master\'s Degree is preferred
  • Proficient in multiple social media platforms, marketing, and digital content development.
  • Experience in an athletics-related field
