Project Architect Columbia, SC

Work for an award-winning professional services company that has current and/or completed projects in 25 states.

This role reports directly to the Principal-In-Charge for the project and requires daily coordination with the PIC, Director of Architecture, and project team.

What the Qualified Candidate Needs

Background / Education

o Professional (NAAB Accredited) Degree in Architecture. Licensed to practice Architecture. NCARB Certificate in-hand or able to acquire once hired.

o 5-8 years working under or with a licensed Architect.

o Design-Build experience, or the desire to work in that environment, required.

o Industrial/Distribution/Logistics building type experience, or the desire to work on those types of projects, required.

o Commercial, industrial, multi-family, and local government work experience beneficial.

o Experience with renovation, upfit and expansion projects beneficial

Knowledge and Skillset Requirements

o Self-motivated individual able to work well in a team environment with architects, engineers, and construction professionals. Driven to provide what is needed to provide a successful project outcome.

o Motivated to be a leader of the project team and play a pivotal role in nurturing client relationships.

o Good graphic, written, and verbal skills in the appropriate media.

o Strong analytical skills to support program development and design decisions.

o Strong knowledge of codes and regulations applicable to the projects. ADAAG, FDA, FM Global, ICC, NFPA, and USDA.

o Ability to sketch an idea while talking with a client, or Contractor, to quickly illustrate the discussion at hand.

o Ability to plan out the path to success for the project at hand.

o Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office Suite. Helpful to know of other programs useful in preparing presentation quality renderings.

o Demonstrated ability to independently produce medium and large project documentation.

o A "get your hands dirty" personality with the drive to provide quality work to assure a successful, on-time, on-budget project.
