. Working collaboratively and under the supervision of the Training & Education Director, this role ensures effective coordination of apprenticeship programs, continuing education, community engagement, and promotional activities.

Core Responsibilities & Time Allocation
Apprenticeship Program Support (25%)
Support the Training and Education Director to ensure the smooth operation of the Apprenticeship Program.
Procure and distribute apprentice training materials for each school year.
Maintain accurate apprentice records, files, and communications.
Track attendance, grades, and class compliance documentation for students, sponsors, and external agencies such as the Kentucky Department of Labor.
Assist in organizing and participate in apprenticeship
graduations and ceremonies
, including certificates, awards, and communications.
Support scheduling, capacity planning, and quality improvement efforts, including student surveys.
Provide direct student support and assist with member sponsorship placement, as needed.
Pre-Apprenticeship & Workforce Development (25%)
Build and maintain partnerships with schools, CTE programs, and community organizations to promote pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship opportunities.
Collaborate with
workforce agencies
, schools, and employers to support recruitment and program expansion.
Coordinate field trips, tours, and student engagement activities.
Develop and distribute materials to promote IEC's apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs.
Manage logistics for pre-apprenticeship and PlugIn/New Worker programs, including scheduling, materials, attendance tracking, and facility readiness.
Event Planning, Outreach, and Community Engagement (20%)
Plan, coordinate, and attend all
career fairs, and school visits
.
Maintain prospects list for follow-up engagement.
Plan and execute IEC apprenticeship-related events and programs.
Manage event logistics (RSVPs, materials, setup/teardown, signage, vendors, supplies).
Order food, promotional items, and branded materials as needed.
Represent IEC at community, workforce, and industry events.
Marketing, Communications & Social Media (20%)
Manage
all social media
related to apprenticeship programs, events, and success stories.
Create and distribute a monthly IEC
training and apprenticeship newsletter
highlighting student achievements, events, and upcoming opportunities.
Design digital and print marketing materials (e.g., flyers, graphics, and posts via Canva and Constant Contact).
Keep IEC's
website
current with training schedules, scholarship information, and announcements.
Continuing Education Support (10%)
Support the
Continuing Education
program by coordinating presenters, scheduling and promoting courses, and reporting attendance to Kentucky's Department of Housing, Buildings, and Construction.
Ensure classroom readiness and provide on-site logistical support.
Relationships
Collaborate closely with IEC staff, instructors, and Board members.
Strengthen partnerships with schools, workforce agencies, and community stakeholders.
Represent IEC of Kentuckiana at community, educational, and industry events.
General Duties
Serve as staff liaison on apprenticeship-related committees.
Respond promptly to calls and emails from students and prospective students.
Support process and system improvements within the organization.
Assist with Board and committee meeting logistics, as needed.
Report facility maintenance issues, as needed.
Provide exceptional service to apprentices, instructors, and partners.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support IEC's mission and success.
Qualifications
Associate or bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience in education, workforce development, or program coordination.
Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva, and social media platforms.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
