We are looking to fill the role of:

Apprentice Dog Trainer

Key Responsibilities:

Training and Education:

Commit to completing a formal course and apprenticeship program with Waggles Pet Resort to develop professional dog training skills.

Dog Training:

Assist with training sessions using Waggles Pet Resort's methods and techniques. Learn to develop and implement training plans for dogs of all breeds and temperaments.

Customer Interaction:

Engage with clients to understand their training goals and provide clear, effective communication about their pet's progress.

Evaluations and Lessons:

Conduct dog training evaluations and lead take-home lessons for pet owners, ensuring they feel confident in continuing their dog's training at home.

Multi-Role Responsibilities:

Flexibly work in various roles within the business, such as a daycare attendant, to gain a well-rounded understanding of the operations and enhance overall service delivery.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with other team members to ensure a cohesive and supportive work environment. Be personable, upbeat, and enjoyable to work with, contributing to a positive team dynamic.

Qualifications:

At least 1 year of paid, professional pet-care experience (daycare, kennel, shelter, or vet)

Passion for working with dogs and a genuine interest in learning about dog behavior and training. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Physical ability to handle dogs of all sizes and energy levels. A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to take on various roles within the business.
