Professional Dog Trainer for In Home and Board and Train Programs

We are hiring an experienced dog trainer to join our team and take on in home training as well as board and train programs. The ideal candidate has a strong background in basic obedience, advanced obedience, and behavior modification, and can confidently work one on one with clients and safely manage one to three dogs living in their home at a time.

Responsibilities

Provide structured in home training sessions for clients
Run full board and train programs in your home for one to three dogs at a time
Teach all core obedience commands including sit, down, heel, come, and place
Work advanced obedience such as off leash training, focused heel, and proofing around distractions
Apply balanced training with fair and safe use of tools
Implement behavior modification plans for issues such as reactivity, fear, anxiety, or aggression
Create a structured daily routine that includes crate time, training sessions, socialization, and exercise
Document progress for each dog and deliver professional updates to clients
Communicate confidently with clients and represent the company with professionalism
Maintain a clean, safe, dog friendly home environment

Requirements

Minimum one year of professional dog training experience
Strong handling skills and confident leash control
Experience with prong collars, e collars, and reward based balanced training
Ability to manage multiple dogs in your home safely and responsibly
Ability to follow company systems and our training philosophy
Strong communication skills and reliability
A clean and organized living space suitable for housing dogs
Must be comfortable with dogs of all sizes and temperaments

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $75,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
