HYBRID POSITION

SUMMARY

Provides professional level support and planning for the development, implementation, operation, and maintenance of applications and databases related to enterprise applications; installs, updates and system components, database, and infrastructure.

\xef\x82\xb7 Provides technical expertise, oversight, and accountability for resolution of enterprise application issues and user support needs in coordination with District technology teams, IT leadership, users, stakeholders, and vendors.

\xef\x82\xb7 Designs, creates, implements, and maintains advanced scalable enterprise application and solutions, automated workflows, and databases using relevant development tools and services, current industry-standard coding languages and tools, including low code or no code, to update or rebuild existing enterprise applications, ensuring, optimal performance, security, reliability, and continuous improvement.

\xef\x82\xb7 Develops and establishes standard processes for reviewing and updating all current applications; identifies and addresses inefficiencies or issues and recommends/manages enhancements and upgrades to prevent or reduce system downtime, security breaches, or other potential problems.

\xef\x82\xb7 Utilizes industry-standard coding languages and tools or low-code or no-code tools to update or rebuild existing enterprise applications and forms, ensuring they are constantly evolving with changing technology trends.

\xef\x82\xb7 Develops and maintains secure coding practices, emphasizing application security and data protection, in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

\xef\x82\xb7 Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies, industry best practices, and programming principles; design and adopt enhancements, develop roadmaps, and lead implementations of improved technology and processes.

\xef\x82\xb7 Creates Tables, Queries, Stored Procedures, Functions and Triggers in SQL Server or related applications.

\xef\x82\xb7 Creates reports using business intelligence tools for analyzing data and creating visualizations and integrates them with enterprise applications; analyzes current and archived data.

\xef\x82\xb7 Builds and maintains custom APIs and expose data to external applications

\xef\x82\xb7 Designs and develops a variety of user interfaces that ensure a seamless and intuitive user experience for both internal and external systems.

\xef\x82\xb7 Analyzes customer requirements and business needs and how they translate into application features and initiate coordination of various technology teams including MPS IT staff, data stewards, stakeholders, and vendors as needed to resolve complex issues

\xef\x82\xb7 Performs unit and integration testing before launch, conducting functional and non-functional testing; troubleshoots and debugs enterprise applications and fortify defenses against security threats, viruses, or errors that might hinder the performance of applications or pose security risks.

\xef\x82\xb7 Executes and leads projects pertaining to the development of new or existing applications in collaboration with MPS IT Staff and Stakeholders.

\xef\x82\xb7 Develops and delivers technical training to MPS staff on the proper use of enterprise applications

\xef\x82\xb7 Ensures adherence to system security and confidentiality of records and information; monitors operations, identifies security risks/violations of District policies and guidelines. Applications Developer

\xef\x82\xb7 Documents tasks completed; manages inventory of enterprise applications; maintains work log of service requests, equipment malfunctions, software errors and failures, equipment locations, and technical configurations.

\xef\x82\xb7 Addresses tickets assigned to Application Services in the ITSM tool, identify and report trends and technical problems that need to be addressed by improved procedures and policies.

\xef\x82\xb7 Demonstrate courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with students, clients, visitors, and MPS staff, and act in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.

\xef\x82\xb7 Enthusiastically promotes the Superintendent\'s goals and priorities in compliance with all policies and procedures.

\xef\x82\xb7 Assist with special projects and perform other duties or tasks as assigned on an as-needed basis.

\xef\x82\xb7 Maintains strict confidentiality of all document contents on any District server or personal computer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training and Experience Guidelines Bachelor\'s Degree in computer technology, or a related field; AND four (4) years of application development and database management experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources.

\xef\x82\xb7 Principles and practices of relational database management, storing, managing, and retrieving structured data.

\xef\x82\xb7 Techniques of automating repetitive tasks across different applications and services.

\xef\x82\xb7 A variety of modern programming languages.

\xef\x82\xb7 Principles and practices of the creation, maintenance and organization of documentation to support system operations, services, procedures, and programs.

\xef\x82\xb7 Principles and practices of application connectivity to database hosts.

\xef\x82\xb7 Network hardware, software and peripheral equipment troubleshooting techniques.

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

A valid Minnesota State Driver\'s License may be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a computer laboratory and standard office environment which requires occasionally lifting such articles as file boxes or heavier materials with help from others and/or lifting and carrying light objects frequently. A job in this category may require walking or standing to a significant degree or may involve sitting most of the time with long periods of computer work and heavy phone usage.
