Position: Animal & Farm Coordinator Salary: $45K-$50K, Excellent Benefits, Free Professional Development, & Free Gourmet Farm to Table Meals! Summary: Mountain Valley is looking for an Animal and Farm Coordinator to join our day shift Residential Team! The Animal and Farm Coordinator will be responsible for developing, managing, and leading the animal husbandry and farming components of our therapeutic programming. This person will work with the residential leadership team to ensure horticulture and animal-based activities are integrated into the daily programming and support the treatment goals of the residents in our program. This person will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of our rotating seasonal livestock which includes chickens, bunnies, sheep, cows, and more. This person will also be responsible for creating and maintaining a sustainable garden on campus. They will work with the seasons to produce fresh food for our farm-to-table culinary program and contribute to ensuring a biodiverse environment on our beautiful 25-acre campus. In addition to coordinating and leading programming, this role is a member of a direct care team who are responsible for supporting the daily living habits and routines of our residents. Our residential staff ensure residents holistic well-being throughout treatment by supporting nutrition, exercise, sleep hygiene, and medication management. Responsibilities:
  • Directly responsible for developing, managing, and leading horticulture and animal based therapeutic programming within the milieu.
  • Responsible for ensuring the well-being of our animal livestock and maintaining a sustainable and diverse garden.
  • Provide direct care services that support residents\xe2\x80\x99 holistic well-being (medication management, nutrition, exercise, sleep, etc.).
  • Provide mentorship, leadership, and training regarding animal husbandry, farming, and gardening to other residential staff.
  • Consults regularly with Residential Leadership in regard to program development and ongoing growth of horticulture and animal-based programming.
  • Participates in all residential meetings and trainings.
  • Responsible for knowing and adhering to all agency policies and safety protocol.

  • Perform any other duties as deemed necessary by the Residential Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree and previous experience with animals, farming & gardening.
