Job Description


This is a unique opportunity for a highly skilled data architect to have a meaningful impact on a large scale at one of America\'s leading financial services firms. In this role, you will take lead in driving transformation in our data environment to meet the evolving needs of the business and their modernization goals. You will partner across teams within Consumer and Community Banking, Data and Analytics, and Global Technology to gather business requirements and develop target state data architectures in support of distribution strategy and spatial data science modeling efforts.

This role is part of the Distribution and Geospatial Data Science team within Community Banking Decision Sciences. Our team\'s goal is continuing to drive optimization and growth across Chase\'s retail network. The network has grown tremendously over the last several years to serve 66 million households with retail operations across the contiguous 48 states. We\'re very proud of the work we do to make banking more accessible to communities and we wouldn\'t have been able to do this without the people developing and executing upon data and analytic solutions across the firm! Job Responsibilities:

  • Work between CB Decision Sciences, Data & Analytics, and Global Technology as it relates to our AWS migration helping to guide and design the future of our data and analytics ecosystem.
  • Work with partners in Real Estate, Corporate Strategy, Distribution Strategy, Data and Analytics, and various lines of business to understand and document analytic project objectives, deliverables, and timelines. Ensure constant two-way communication with partners throughout the analytic journey.
  • Work with partners and teammates to identify and collect data from various relational databases, datamarts, or big data file stores utilizing technologies like SAS, Alteryx, Teradata Studio, and PySpark. Ensure that data use documentation complies with Chase\'s internal controls framework.
  • Develop sustainable data driven solutions with current and next generation data technologies to meet the needs of our organization now and in the future.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
  • Master\'s degree or PhD in relevant quantitative/analytical field (e.g. Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Applied Math, Operations Research, Physics, or GIS fields) required plus 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent communicator able to convey information in an understandable, compelling, and persuasive manner to business partners and senior executives
  • Excellent project and strategic planning skills
  • Expertise in AWS foundational and data technologies including, but not limited to: S3, Redshift, Athena, EMR, and Kinesis.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
  • Understanding of spatial data science and GIS applications (e.g., Esri, QGIS, PostGIS) preferred, but not required
  • Financial services background preferred, but not required
  • Domain specific expertise including fraud/risk analytics, bank operations, and distribution strategy preferred, but not required
