Summary of The Academy\xe2\x80\x99s Strategic Partnership Alliance (SPA):

Accelerating financial and regulatory pressures, digitization of clinical data, scientific advances, and new technology are disrupting Top100 health systems. In response, health systems are pursuing a strategy of clinical and operating model transformation. Systems are concluding that it is not efficient or practical to undertake this transformation alone \xe2\x80\x93 collaboration and partnerships will lead to more accelerated success.

The Academy is ideally positioned to leverage its thought leadership, peer network, resources, and experts to guide health systems in their approach to better understanding and forming successful, transformative partnerships that build scale, drive revenue, and accelerate the use of innovation.

The Academy is excited to establish the Strategic Partnership Alliance (\xe2\x80\x9cSPA\xe2\x80\x9d), a unique opportunity to bring together 20 like-minded, non-competitive Top100 health systems that are committed to identifying and forming successful partnerships. SPA works with its members to evaluate and develop business opportunities that require scale and collaboration among multiple leading health systems. These opportunities may ultimately take the form of joint ventures, spin-outs, commercialization of IP or existing capabilities, co-investments in independent companies, or some combination of the above.

SPA manages a portfolio of workstreams. Some are pre-launch; here, SPA focuses on validating IP, benchmarking performance across the cohort to create value assessment, conducting market analysis to hone packaging concept, testing problem runs, creating a workplan for incubation and launch, and defining an investment thesis for partnership and/or seed capital. Some will be nascent but funded ventures; here, SPA focuses on building a go-to market plan through market analysis, testing packaging and pricing, creating a detailed proforma and workplan for commercialization, and presenting the thesis for investment or partnership for the group. SPA also tackles longer-term transformational opportunities to solve evergreen problems best addressed by economies of scale.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Strategy, the Analyst / Sr. Analyst is a critical role in SPA.

SPA is organized into 3-4 consulting teams that assess potential opportunities, catalog existing investments and joint ventures by the member systems and prepare use cases or business plans for the most promising opportunities. Once SPA system members are committed to pursuing an idea, you will work within a team to execute on these initiatives, as well as report on progress and ROI.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, a self-starter, adept at market research and financial analysis, and eager to take on new challenges. Early-career professionals with one to three years of substantive work experience in health care, private equity, venture capital, or management consulting would be a good fit.

Primary Job Duties:

Support team lead in project strategy, planning, and execution

Conduct primary and secondary research within the scope of projects, including on specific health system initiatives, market (e.g., size, trends, players), and health system needs

Conduct vendor and health system interviews/discussions; develop interview scripting and key questions; take detailed notes and analyze/synthesize for high-level takeaways

Create and test investment these concepts, including market segmentation, go-to-market plans, product packaging, and pricing

Support validation of ROI of venture concept by conducting benchmarking studies and creating ROI models

Create member-facing analysis to report back on findings

Interface with members and build strong member relationships

Minimum Qualifications:

BA degree required

1-3 years of substantive work experience in health care, management consulting, private equity, or venture capital

Demonstrated skills in researching and analyzing healthcare issues, including an ability to synthesize and summarize large amounts of information and to focus quickly on the essence of an issue

Creative, strategic thinker with excellent analytic and critical thinking skills

Excellent quantitative and qualitative research skills, including the ability to draft interview guides, execute studies, and produce syntheses of key findings

Articulate \xe2\x80\x93 written and oral - and professional; excellent customer and client service skills

Strong work ethic and capacity to work both independently and in a collaborative work environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including PowerPoint and Excel

Compensation:

Starting salary of $90,000 and up plus benefits
