JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Ambulatory Applications Engineer to join our team. The Ambulatory Applications Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining our ambulatory healthcare information technology systems. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a strong understanding of ambulatory healthcare workflows. The ambulatory applications engineer will lead a team of software support specialists and ensure efficient and reliable operations of our ambulatory systems across the enterprise. Collaboration with healthcare leaders, clinicians, and IT staff to ensure efficient and reliable operations of our ambulatory applications is an expectation of this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide frontline application support and troubleshooting for ambulatory healthcare information technology systems, including electronic health records (EHR), practice management systems, and related clinical and financial applications.
  • Participate in the research and analysis of new applications for the ambulatory and clinic environments.
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams and vendors to implement system upgrades, enhancements and resolve incidents.
  • Collaborate with cross functional and multi-disciplinary teams to promote quality implementations and provide ongoing optimization to maximize end user adoption.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of end-user training and support materials.
  • Conduct system testing, validation, and quality assurance activities to ensure proper functionality and performance.
  • Use data to monitor system performance and identify potential areas for improvement or optimization.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of support activities, system configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Ability to configure the system to support application and business workflow to meet business/operational needs.
  • Ability to resolve tickets and keep IT ticket tracking application updated.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Proficient with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Previous experience providing application support in an ambulatory healthcare environment is highly desirable.
  • Experience with HST-Pathways, NextGen and/or Athena EMR preferred
  • Use of ServiceNow application highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of ambulatory healthcare workflows and processes.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting software issues related to EHR, practice management systems, and other ambulatory IT applications.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, such as HIPAA and MIPS.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve issues.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with healthcare professionals, IT staff, and end-users.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in an environment under SOX compliance guidelines & regulations is beneficial.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree (B.A.) or equivalent; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
