Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned, people-centered leader to oversee our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) department -- a large, dynamic, and mission-critical team within our hospice agency. CNAs are the heart of our care model, often forming the closest relationships with patients and families. This role is ideal for someone who understands the realities of CNA work and is passionate about supporting and elevating frontline caregivers.


The Supervisor of the Aide Department will be responsible for leading a well-established team, strengthening operational standards, and fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and compassion. This leader will also serve as a visible ambassador to the broader CNA community, including local training programs and workforce development initiatives.


Team Leadership & Management


Lead, mentor, and support a large team of CNAs across multiple care settings. Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and high performance. Conduct regular supervisory visits and performance evaluations. Address personnel issues with fairness, consistency, and discretion.
Operational Oversight


Develop, implement, and maintain clear policies, procedures, and expectations for the CNA department. Ensure compliance with hospice regulations and standards of care. Collaborate with clinical leadership to align aide services with patient needs and care plans.
Recruitment & Community Engagement


Help develop a recruiting strategy for CNAs in a competitive market. Represent the agency at CNA-related events, training programs, and workforce development forums, and build mutually beneficial partnerships in the community.
Quality & Performance Improvement


Monitor and improve key performance indicators related to aide services. Lead initiatives to enhance patient and family satisfaction. Support CNAs in delivering culturally competent, person-centered care.

Proven experience managing large, diverse teams in healthcare or related fields, with a strong track record of fostering healthy team dynamics. Deep understanding of the CNA role and the challenges and opportunities it presents. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex team dynamics and build trust across a wide range of personalities. Skilled in setting clear expectations, addressing conflict constructively, and cultivating a culture of accountability and mutual respect. Experience developing and implementing policies and operational standards. Passion for workforce development and community engagement. RN license preferred (required for conducting field supervisory visits) but not required -- exceptional people management experience is the top priority. * CNA certification or clinical background plus.
