Job Description

Our afterschool Program offers students the opportunity to participate in enrichment classes, recreational activities, and tutoring programs. We aim to provide a welcoming and stimulating enrichment program that encourages and celebrates our students\' curiosity and talents. To achieve this goal, we are looking for qualified and talented individuals who can support and help enhance our program. We are currently looking for an after-school teacher to lead our Spanish program once a week. This is contracted as a school year-long position (September 2023 to June 2024). Qualification Requirements:

• Must be available to work at once a week from 2:30pm to 5:00pm.
• Must have a bacholrs or higher degree in education or related field.
• Must have professional knowledge in teaching the Spanish language with the capability to teach techniques to elementary students grades K-2.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with children in early childhood or childhood education.
• Exceptional group management, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to create interactive academic and/or enrichment activities that are age appropriate.
• Genuine enthusiasm for developing professional skills through training opportunities and field practice.
• Ability to work as part of a team within a school community.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively and respectfully with diverse constituents.
• Knowledge and experience with online/virtual programming preferred.
• Must maintain a working email address and respond promptly to program-related emails.
• Must have a fun, approachable personality and passion for childhood education.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise participants while maintaining order, providing a conducive learning environment, and ensuring their safety.
• Responsible for developing weekly activity lesson plans in area(s) of specialty.
• Facilitate activities that foster the development of new skills in children.
• Assist in all activities needed for the orderly operation of the program, including supervising children during snacks, facilitating dismissal, conducting field trips, hosting special events, etc.
• Provide classroom and behavioral management skills, ensuring that all participants follow safety and program rules.
• Complete all projects and tasks as requested while ensuring the safety and security of all participants and the smooth operation of programming.
• Complete 10 hours of professional development each school calendar year.
• Attend all meetings, training workshops, and special events as required, including that outside of program hours.
• Serve as a positive and engaging role model for students; work with students one-on-one when necessary, and be flexible to meet their needs.
• Maintain proper use of program supplies.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Type: Part-time Pay: Up to $53.00 per hour Benefits:
