G Road, founded in 2010, is a Phoenix-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting our community's youth and young adults as they approach adulthood. To achieve this goal, G Road creates and implements targeted programming in the community it aims to serve.
Founder Daniel Stanton, who was born and raised in Downtown Phoenix, benefitted from a multitude of after-school programs focused on his needs as a young person. The programs most effective in his life were those built on intentional relationships, with consistent, present adults. Today, G Road provides unique and engaging after school programs at absolutely no cost to families in Downtown Phoenix.

Our mission is to support young people on their road to adulthood through creative programming and intentional relationships. Responsibilities
Plan and facilitate engaging and age-appropriate activities for school-aged children (K-8)
Create a safe and welcoming environment for children to learn and grow
Supervise and monitor children during activities and free time
Support a culture of high expectations
Demonstrate patience and resiliency by working with young people to navigate emotions, conflicts, goals, and challenges
Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and other program counselors
Maintain accurate attendance records and other program documentation
Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required
Share your passions and interests to support exposure opportunities for young people
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (required), Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, psychology, social work, or related field preferred
Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Must be able to obtain and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times
Experience working with school-aged children (K-8) in a group setting is a must
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Flexibility and adaptability to changing program needs
Ability to solve problems and effectively communicate when neccessary
Passion for working with children and helping them to reach their full potential
