Position Overview
We are hiring a skilled CNC Machinist to join our aerospace manufacturing team in Berlin, CT. This position focuses exclusively on operating high-precision
Okuma 4- and 5-axis CNC milling machines
to produce complex turbine components. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in precision milling, a strong understanding of aerospace tolerances, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and set up
4- and 5-axis Okuma CNC milling machines
to machine aerospace components
Load tools, set work offsets, and make adjustments for tight-tolerance production
Perform in-process quality checks using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and detailed work instructions
Maintain accurate documentation for setups, tooling, and part traceability
Collaborate with quality and engineering teams to resolve machining issues
Ensure machines are running efficiently and perform routine preventative maintenance
Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
Qualifications
Minimum
3 years of CNC milling experience
, preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing
Experience setting up and running
Okuma CNC mills
(4- or 5-axis) with
Fanuc controls
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and aerospace specs
Familiarity with tight tolerances and inspection tools
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications a plus
Preferred Experience
Background in
CAD/CAM software
(e.g., Mastercam) for tooling and setups
Experience with
lean manufacturing
and continuous improvement initiatives
Proven ability to
optimize cycle times
and improve machining efficiency
