Adult Education Math Instructor (part Time)
Job Description
Job Responsibilities
Provide instruction in the academic areas of reading, writing, English, mathematics, science and social studies for all assigned students according to the individual needs of each participant as measured by pre-testing. For those students who demonstrate readiness for GED preparation, instruction includes writing skill/essay, social studies and science in addition to the appropriate levels of math, reading/literature and language arts. This position insures that participants are academically prepared to successfully pass the GED examination as well as the WorkKeys assessment.
- Provide instruction in the academic areas
- Plan, organize and coordinate instructional lessons based on participant need
- Maintain required student records - maintain daily attendance, monitor participant progress, track completions and follow-up with participants as required
- Attend required Professional Development opportunities
Bachelor\'s degree, preferably in education or a related field and the ability to use computer software applications. Experience in teaching high school students and/or adults preferred as well as the ability to utilize individualized instructional techniques. Middle Level and/or Secondary certification required. Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience, alternatives to these qualifications as the Commission may deem appropriate.
Alternatives to the above qualifications as the superintendent and district board may deem appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in Math.
