JOB SUMMARY:

Assists in overseeing the various functions of the McHenry County Jury Commission and reports to the McHenry County Jury Coordinator and the Deputy Trial Court Administrator.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists in maintaining and managing the jury system for McHenry County and the 22nd Judicial Circuit Court.
  • Monitors and tracks court calendars.
  • Determines source lists for potential jurors, sends and reviews questionnaires to determine qualified jurors as specified by state statute.
  • Issues summons and determines/reviews request for postponement, exemptions, or disqualifications.
  • Furnish lists of names of qualified jurors to jury courtrooms.
  • First point of contact for summoned jurors to explain procedures, answer questions, select jury panels, direct them to courtrooms. Also dismisses jurors at end of day or their term of service.
  • Maintains attendance records for jurors and prepare jury payrolls.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma
  • 1 year of clerical experience with phone etiquette and filing experience
  • Legal knowledge is helpful.
