$21.21 per hour to $22.46 per hour

Lewis and Clark County is hiring for two (2) Administrative Assistant II's. Under the general supervision of the Administrative Supervisor this position performs office clerical and administrative support tasks for the Public Health Department.

Duties



Performs general reception duties (greeting customers and answering phones); Performs office clerical and administrative support tasks; Maintains logs for projects including but not limited to permits, variances, and contracts; Prepares invoices, accepts payments, and posts deposits; Processes claims and insurance EOB's; Collects statistical, financial, budgetary, and operational information; Develops reports; Schedules meetings; Records and transcribes meeting minutes; Maintains documents, records, data, and filing systems; Drafts correspondence; Responds to information requests and inquiries from citizens and government agencies; Receives complaints, creates records in appropriate data system, and assigns to sanitarian; Supports other health department programs; Performs medical billing functions; Performs duties and responsibilities in a culturally sensitive and appropriate manner; Performs other duties as assigned.

Use common office machines; Operate computer systems and related software, including word processing and spreadsheet programs; Schedule appointments and track work assignments; Maintain records according to prescribed standards; Prepares documents according to prescribed standards; Report grant activities according to prescribed standards; Organize resources and establish priorities; Follows verbal and written instructions; Communicate effectively verbally and in writing; Establish working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, and citizens; Position requires knowledge and use of typical office equipment including telephone, copiers, fax machines and personal computer; Position requires regular contact with employees and the public occasional contact with community service agencies; Position may be required to participate in training for emergency preparedness.

Qualifications



The above knowledge, skills, and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and two (2) years' experience as an administrative secretary or similar position. Associates degree in office technology or equivalent preferred.

Must pass background check.

Physical Demands



Duties are generally performed in an office environment where hazards and discomforts are controlled and modifiable. This position requires the ability to stand, bend at the waist, kneel, reach over the head, talk, hear, and see. Must be able to move or lift documents and materials weighing up to 30 pounds.
