Job Description


Our purpose [of Seminaries and Institutes of Religion, S&I] is to help youth and young adults deepen their conversion to Jesus Christ and His restored gospel, qualify for the blessings of the temple; prepare themselves, their families, and others for eternal life with their Father in Heaven.

This position provides clerical and administrative support in a seminary, or coordinator program. Qualifications

  • Proficiency in office or clerical functions normally developed through 2 years post high school education or training and 0-3 years of clerical or secretarial experience
  • Requires a keyboarding speed of at least 50 wpm
  • Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint skills with the ability to interact effectively with priesthood leaders
  • Demonstrated proficiency in performing detailed work with ability to maintain strict confidences
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
  • Must be able to perform tasks accurately and in a timely manner
  • Works under general supervision
Responsibilities
  • Processes information, written communications to support financial management, student registration, and recordkeeping and control functions.
  • Completes special projects, generates and distributes reports
  • Performs reception and phone answering duties; greets, assists and visits with students and visitors
  • Conducts maintenance of equipment for assigned systems, processes, and/or products
  • Maintains Excel spreadsheet, compares expenditure and income against reports
  • Supports social and other functions/meetings by purchasing, preparing, serving food and clean up
  • Registers students for class attendance, supports events sponsored by S&I
  • Decorates and posts a bulletin board and decorates for season events
  • Operates office equipment, keeps inventory and oversees maintenance of equipment
  • Performs tasks simultaneously while exhibiting patience and understanding during inevitable interruptions.
  • May perform specialized and less diverse clerical assignments such as budget and financial control, area office/unit coordination or event scheduling, etc as assigned
Worthiness Qualification Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
