Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate Activity Assistant to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in an Assisted Living setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for senior care and creating enriching experiences.
Duties:
Plan and lead daily activites that enage residents in assisted living and memory care. Be active with residents-encouraging them to participate and be social. Be able to Communicate effectively with individuals at all cognitive levels, including those with dementia. Adapt activities to meet a variety of different abilites. Foster a warm,inclusive environment that supports the residents well being. Work closely with care teams and families to support individual needs
Skills:
- Experience or interest in nursing home or senior care environments
- Strong schedule management skills to organize and execute activities efficiently
- Ability to plan and host events that cater to residents' interests and abilities
- Excellent communication skills to engage with residents and collaborate with the care team
- Knowledge or willingness to learn about memory care and dementia-specific activities
- Understanding of long-term care principles and the importance of personalized resident care
