Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Director to join our team. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for residents in our assisted living, memory care, and long-term care communities. The Activities Director will be responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging recreational activities that promote social interaction, physical health, and emotional well-being among residents. This position requires strong communication skills and a commitment to providing exceptional care to individuals with diverse needs.

Duties

Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and abilities of residents. Plan and coordinate events that foster community engagement and enhance socialization among residents. Collaborate with staff to ensure activities are inclusive for all residents, including those with disabilities. Assist residents in participating in activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment. Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to continuously improve programming. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff regarding upcoming events and activities. Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make necessary adjustments based on resident feedback. Stay informed about best practices in recreational therapy and community care to enhance program offerings.

Requirements

Experience in event planning or recreational therapy is preferred. Familiarity with assisted living, home community care, or long-term care environments is highly desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team while demonstrating empathy towards individuals with varying abilities. Knowledge of memory care practices is a plus. A passion for working with people with disabilities and enhancing their quality of life through meaningful activities. Must possess organizational skills to manage multiple events simultaneously while ensuring attention to detail.
