Hale Makua Health Services is a Maui based non-profit that improves the well-being of those in its care through compassionate personalized health services. We are devoted to helping Maui's Elders live their best lives. Hale Makua's Wailuku location is a 90-bed nursing facility.
The Position:
We're looking for a caring and creative Activities Coordinator, to assists the Activities Director in providing for an ongoing program of activities designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, interest and the physical, cognitive, and psychosocial well being of each resident. Responsibilities include:
Interviews, assesses and develops an appropriate individualized activity plan for residents as assigned by the Activities Director.
Assist the Activities Director in maintaining records, audiovisual material, equipment, and supplies. Serves on assigned committees.
Assumes the responsibilities of the Activities Director when the Director is on paid time off or on leave of absence.
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a social or recreation program within the last 5 years, one of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting.
Must have understanding of the psychosocial and recreational needs of the residents. Must have basic knowledge of geriatrics and the operation of a long term care facility.
Valid drivers license
